At CCM Professor, we believe music is more than melody and lyrics—it’s a story of faith, culture, and transformation. Founded by Greg Rice, a lifelong musician, producer, and storyteller, CCM Professor exists to preserve and share the history of Contemporary Christian Music (CCM), primarily between 1967 and 2001. This was the golden era when artists and songs laid the foundation for what would become one of the most influential movements in Christian faith and worship.
Greg’s journey is rooted in both ministry and music. The son of a preacher, he grew up surrounded by church life and discovered early how powerfully music can shape lives. Over the decades, he’s toured across the U.S. and overseas with groups like Spirit Bound and The Crownsmen, studied at Liberty University under Dr. Jerry Falwell, and worked as a session vocalist, arranger, and producer. His passion has always been helping people encounter God through music—whether on stage, in the studio, or behind the microphone as the CCM Professor.
